Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo to enhance the eyebrows. Pigment is etched into the upper layers of the skin by hand; these microscopic strokes mimic the look of actual hair as we artistically create hyper-realistic designs.
Our clients come to us for the most natural results while crafting fullness, symmetry & shape.
A complimentary touch-up is always recommended 6-10 weeks after your initial microblading service to build the brows; we avoid over-working the skin & over-saturating the surface (which results in blocky, solid brows. No good.)
microblading
We are happy to offer microblading corrections & tattoo cover-ups for brows that have been done elsewhere but we must see them beforehand to determine that we have a workable canvas.
Prices will vary based on your situation so please send us an email to
heybabe@meltbymelissa.com
to inquire about your situation. Corrective work often requires additional sessions & will be charged accordingly.
We will need to see photos of your brows in order to provide more details & set realistic expectations of what can be done. If we cannot improve the previous work, we will advise you appropriately.
cover-ups & corrections
A highly effective topical numbing cream will be applied before the procedure begins. A second numbing gel is applied directly to open skin during the procedure to ensure maximal comfort.
While every client has a different pain tolerance, most report that microblading is painless. Some even fall asleep!
Please note that having this procedure done during your menstrual cycle can increase sensitivity.
DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
Fading is desired, as your skin and facial structure will change as you age. This allows us to adjust the shape & color over time.
However, this does not mean that your pigment will completely disappear. Depending on your skin & health, there may be a soft haze of residual pigment left behind.
A variety of internal & external factors will play a role in the rate of fading. These include, but are not limited to, metabolism & hormones, skin type & oil production, excessive sun exposure, lightening & exfoliating skin care products or treatments, techniques from the artist, depth of placement, etc.
Dry, nonporous skin typically heals with crisper, individual strokes & fades more slowly than oily skin types.
Oily skin with larger pores in the brow area tends to heal with coarser strokes or a more powdery look & fades more quickly due to extra oil production.
Please review our detailed after care instructions for tips on how to prevent premature fading.
NATURAL FADING
Microblading pigments fade gradually over time. The rate of fading varies case by case & depends on a variety of internal & external factors. On average, clients with refresh their brows annually.
Our clients can come see us anytime for easy refreshes for up to 18 months. After 18 months, it’s safe to assume that 75% or more fading has occurred & a full microblade is required.
We recommend touching up your brows regularly to keep the color fresh, the strokes crisp, & the shape defined.
how long will my brows last?
1. Traditional tattoos use a machine/gun to implant pigment. Microblading is performed manually with a handheld tool clutching a “blade” of tiny, sterile needles.
2. Microblading pigments are semi-permanent and designed to gradually fade over time while traditional tattoo inks are not.
3. Traditional tattoos are placed deeper into the dermis (living skin layers) resulting in permanency. Microblading pigment is placed in the superficial layers of the skin & is exfoliated over time.

YOUR DREAM BROWS
CREATING YOUR DREAM BROWS
post-care
pre-care
With a healed foundation from session one, our second appointment is our opportunity to perfect the brows & build hyper-realistic layers in the skin to mimic 3 dimensional hairs.
Here, we are able to better understand your skin after analyzing how you healed from session one. Based on what we see, we’ll make any necessary adjustments to our techniques to create even more beauty in your brows. This session is all about the fun fluffy stuff; adding density & dimension to your brows plus enhancing any areas that need some love.
The healing process & post care instructions are the same as your initial microblading treatment although most clients find it even easier.
Session two must be completed within the 6-10 week window to avoid a fee.
session two
Our first appointment is all about creating the foundation for your new, beautiful brows. Upon arrival, we'll apply a topical anesthetic cream to numb the treatment area while filling out your paperwork.
We'll complete our consultation, color selection, & shape customization to ensure we're in full alignment before beginning the microblading process.
We take a conservative approach in our microblading, spacing strokes out appropriately & building over the two full sessions. We aim to ensure that strokes heal individually like real hairs & never blur or bleed together. More work will be done in session two to complete the brows so you may feel "unfinished" after one session. This is how we achieve the amazing results we are known for & we will never pack in "too many" strokes or risk the best healed result by rushing our session.
Once we're finished with all of our strokes, we'll review our post care instructions, take our after photos & schedule your complimentary touchup for 6-10 weeks out.
